New York City shopping can be divine

When it comes to New York, “overwhelming” might be all that comes to mind when you try to carefully plan your day in the city. With everything to do, see, eat, and then repeat, it’s hard not to make the most of your trip.

Where to shop in nyc

Starbucks - Getting that jump start

When you first come in to the city, you’re going to need that extra kick. The excitement is probably enough, but your morning coffee isn’t something play with. Starbucks is everywhere, but only in NYC can you visit an Aroma Espresso Bar. Their modern décor and minimalist ambience is a calm way to start your day. Choose from a variety of coffee drinks, and juices ordered with a breakfast meal to get you on your way. Start your day early—Aroma opens at 7:00 A.M. so you can make the most of your day, and enjoy the extra surprise that comes with your coffee.

Grand Central - A brisk walk around the shopping area

Take in the city life as you walk from Aroma to Grand Central Station. There are many shops and tours for you to spend your mid morning on. Banana Republic, Swatch, and the Grand Central Market you will not want to miss. Walking and guided tours let you decide how to spend the rest of your afternoon. Since you’ve done all that walking, you won’t need to feel guilty with an official New York soft pretzel and New York Pretzel. You probably also know nothing is better than salty and sweet—bring your pretzel over to Junior’s for a slice of New York’s best cheesecake.

The big Apple's toys

After your NYC lunch, FAO Schwarz is something you need to experience for yourself. You’re already at Grand Central Station, so no worries on finding a subway platform. Hop on an uptown Manhattan 4,5, or 6 train to the 59th St at Lexington Ave Station. Walk East when you exit the platform, towards 5th Avenue. You’ll pass a Levi’s store along with Crate & Barrel, just to name a couple. If you get sidetracked, FAO Schwarz doesn’t stay open very late. It’s worth the early trip though, of course!

Apple stores

You probably noticed the glowing glass Apple cube as you entered one of the most popular toy stores there is. Apple 5th Avenue is open 24-hours, and should absolutely be the next store you visit. The glass winding stairs that lead you to the underground computer mecca are interesting enough. Whether you’re buying something or not, some fun PhotoBooth photos on an in-store iMac are great for some fun memories.

The last NY retail store to top it off

Now you’ve taken care of clothes, food, and entertainment—what else is there? Relaxation. Pick up a taxi for your personal escort over to the best bath and body product store in New York, Sabon. With so many different samples, scents, and soaps to choose from, your skin will love you. Even In Touch reports "Drew Barrymore makes sure her shower is stocked with Sabon’s handmade Dead Sea salt scrubs and almond-oil based body oils"

How to end this NYC shopping guide?

Before you head to your nearest bath tub for your Sabon experience, walk through the city at night over to Central Park. Experience everything New York has to offer from the busy subways underground to the hideaway trails of Central Park. It will truly be a trip to remember.
