Our products do have an expiration date and this date may be seen printed on the side of each product. Despite the expiration date, we recommend you store creams and oils in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat in order to help preserve them better. Storing products in their original packaging is best. For more information on the expiration date of cosmetics, please visit The FDA's website.

Our Olive Oil & Coconut Oil based soaps are highly moisturizing. See all of them here. However, the Avocado Jojoba, Avocado Calendula, Shea Butter, and Mud soaps deliver even more moisture due to their rich ingredients.

Our Glycerine & Palm Oil based soaps are best for oily skin, but are acceptable for all skins types. See all of them here. As well, our Shower Gel is an excellent liquid soap for oily skin.

Our Body Butter is a highly moisturizing bar of Shea butter, Cocoa butter, and Bees wax. Natural plant extracts are used to scent the product. Due to the natural ingredients, the product tends to melt slightly during warmer months, so it is helpful to store the product in a cool place. A sealed jar for traveling will hold the product best. At home, an open jar is suitable, just keep out of warm or “high traffic” areas where it may be prone to falling or becoming too soft.

Our Body Butter is our most moisturizing product. Based on Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter and Beeswax, this product may be used as a spot treatment to soothe severely chapped and dry skin. The Butter Cream, on the other hand, is intended for use over the entire body. This too is based on Shea Butter, but also contains skin moisturizing ingredients like Glycerin and Olive Oil.

Our Body Gel Polisher is a unique blend of liquid soap and micro-scrubbing beads (latex granules used in many cosmetics) that will cleanse and lightly exfoliate the skin, while our Body Scrub is a highly concentrated mixture of Dead Sea Salts and various nut oils that will offer intense exfoliation and moisture.

The Body Scrub is best used without the aid of sponges or cloths, so use your hands to scrub your entire body with one to two scoopfuls, using our wooden scoop. It is best to avoid the facial area as the scrub is too abrasive for ones delicate skin. You may use the scrub up to three times per week. Excessive scrubbing may result in irritated or dry skin.

We have four types of scrubs, all will achieve different levels of exfoliation, cleansing, and moisturizing. Our Creamy Scrub is the most mild of the four. Crushed apricot and olive seeds exfoliate your skin and deliver moisture for normal to oily skin. The newest to the scrub family, the Sugar Scrub, gently exfoliates the skin using delicately ground olive stones while adding extra moisture through aloe vera gel, almond oil, and mineral oils. The Foamy Scrub is the sister to our famous Body Scrub. It contains macadamia, almond and soy nut oils, Dead Sea salts, and has the power to cleanse with an added soap ingredient. The Body Scrub is purely macadamia, almond and soy nut oils, Dead Sea salts and fragrance. This scrub is sure reveal a newer, softer skin through intense exfoliation.

Each Bath Ball is sufficient for one bath. Fill your tub with warm water and toss your favorite Bath Ball into the water. Before your eyes, the minerals will begin to dissolve into the water, creating a smooth and refreshing bath that will ease muscle tension and moisturize your skin.

Our Soap Flakes have multiple uses. Fill a small organza bag with the flakes and place along with your linens and clothes for a fresh scent or simply use the flakes as hand or body soap.

Our Aromas contain highly concentrated fragrance that will disperse through your home with the aid of bamboo sticks. Each time you would like to refresh the fragrance, simply flip the bamboo sticks. Depending on your preference, for a lighter scent try our Champagne, Provence or Bordeaux Aromas. For a stronger scent, try the Heaven or Paradise Aromas. To ensure the longevity of your aroma, be sure to keep far from heat sources like your bathroom or direct sunlight. Each Aroma should last anywhere from 2 – 4 months depending on usage and placement.

Depending upon use, a single bar of soap may last for up to 20 washes. Due to the handmade quality and natural ingredients of our soaps, the ability for them to dissolve is much easier. Take care to keep your soap dry between use, to ensure the longevity of your soap.

Rosacea results primarily from excessive amounts of acid in the body. To reduce the effects of Rosacea one should try to balance or neutralize the excessive acids with alkaline. The Mud Mask contains alkaline occurring naturally in the mud from the Dead Sea. The Mud Mask is effective in replenishing the skin with vital minerals, drawing out impurities thus providing a stronger defense system against airborne toxins, and balancing the skin by combating the acids in the body with alkaline. Our Mud Mask will aid those with Rosacea, however it should not be treated as a cure.

The Dead Sea is known for its unique mineral wealth which can ease and heal numerous ailments such as respiratory and skin related diseases. Additionally it has been proven to help rheumatism, relax the muscles, and deliver essential minerals to the skin that improve moisture and elasticity.

The mining of salts and minerals is not what’s causing the depletion of the Dead Sea, rather it is the shortages of water we are experiencing across the world. Many factories use this water and this is what causes the depletion, there will always be salts and minerals in the Dead Sea. Sabon donates to an organization that is active in the preservation of the Dead Sea. For more information about Sabon’s affiliations please visit our Friends page or log on to www.foe.org (Friends of the Earth) directly to see how you may contribute as well.

Any product that is packaged in glass is likely to be better preserved in its original form than any other kind of packaging. Products placed in plastic containers will over time take on the toxicity of the plastic. e.g. Most people prefer the taste of Coke in a glass bottle rather than a plastic one. Also, glass is made of less processed ingredients than plastic, making it easier to be recycled. Sabon is going green day by day so we try to use as many products as possible that can be recycled.

We are happy to wrap any item, whether it’s a gift for yourself or another. All wrapping will be customized and complimentary to your purchase. Each Sabon employee is trained in the art of wrapping and will create beautiful arrangements, adding delicate details using custom tissue papers, satin ribbons, and specialty stickers.

Once a product is finished we are unable to refill it. You may choose to recycle the glass bottle/jar or use it at home in a unique way. Here at Sabon, we recycle all of our empty glass bottles with the NYC Sanitation Department. Some Sabon employees have used glass bottles as vases and jars to hold spices and small trinkets. Please see our new publication “Sabon My Way” on the Home Page, for unique tips on using your Sabon product in a new way.
